thank you Kelly for stopping by and for your comments. the blog has not been updated in AGES!!! i need to work on that :)

there is no trick honest. jon has always been a good eater, and we usually have a very diversified diet at home, we like to vary and try foods from all over the world. we introduced jon to food when he was 8 months, and he has been eating it every since :) he goes through phases, he went through a phase where he hated broccoli, now he loves it. for the past year he does not eat mushrooms, but other than that, he pretty much eats everything that lands on his plate :)

Karen, you are absolutely right. i ordered the lunchbox online and the lunchboxes are from Laptop Lunches. Have had them for about 2 years and you can put them in the dishwasher, the food can be warmed in the microwave, one of the boxes has a lid, so that you can put either soup or yoghurt or sauces. very creative :) have fun creating lunches :)

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I find your blog very inspiring. I have been reading for months now and it's listed under 'my fave blogs to read' on my bookmarks list with just three others. It's really admirable that you take the time to cook decent food for your child. My question is, what is your trick? How do you get them to eat this food?

What a lot of work, thank you. I'm wondering where you bought such useful, colorful containers, and the box to hold them?

Hi Mamajon,

I just want to say that this is how I wish my kid would eat one day. When she is past her pickiness (she is 20 months and has always been), if ever, and when I become such a gourmet cook, if ever ;-).

But this blog is so inspirational and gives me many ideas.

Thanks!

hi Magnolia. it is good that you are honest about how you feel and are able to express it! :D it is a good point and i am sure a lot of 3 year old are not used to eating a lot of what we offer jon. a lot of the parents i know tend to mash the food up, cut the food into little pieces etc... jon started to use a child friendly knife by age 2 and has been able to eat fruit with seeds since he was 2 (plumbs, cherries etc...) with no accidents. it is about teaching your child how to eat and supervising of course. jon eats olives with seeds, and carefully eats around the seed and stacks the seeds on his plate. we teach him to chew well.
on the other hand, a child can just as well joke just by eating and drinking at the same time. a child can joke on countless things... we have to teach them how to eat.
another factor is that jon always eats sitting down. unlike many other children i see running around the house or garden with food in their hands, as they jump or do cartwheels... there is a time to eat and there is a time to play. that reducing a lot of the choking risks as well.
